WWE is planning to scrap a long-standing tradition from the Night of Champions PLE

WWE may discontinue the King and Queen of the Ring PLE from the Night of Champions event, which is scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia on June 28. This decision follows the tradition being an essential part of SummerSlam, and fans are expressing their dissatisfaction.

The Road to WrestleMania is full steam, and we are just 2 weeks away from Show of Shows in Las Vegas. With so many nerve-wracking events taking place at this year's WrestleMania, a lot of us almost skipped out on the fact that there is so much more to come after this mega-event. Unfortunately, recent rumors suggest that WWE is forgoing one tradition of itself in one of the upcoming PLEs after the Vegas show.

WWE plans to scrap the King and Queen tradition of the company

While there haven't been any official statements about this, rumor has it that WWE plans to scrap the King and Queen of the Ring PLE from the Night of Champions event. This year, the Night of Champions is being held in Saudi Arabia, but we don't have a lot of updates on who will be participating in the event. And according to WrestleVotes, no talks of the King and Queen of the Ring PLE have been had so far, and thus, it's not on schedule.
Last year, GUNTHER beat Randy Orton to become the King of the Ring, while Nia Jax got her crown after defeating Lyra Valkyria. But as per recent rumors, the King and Queen tradition could be ending with these two, as WWE plans to scrap this PLE from their Night of Champions event this year, and quite possibly for good, moving forward.

Fans react to the latest rumor of the possible scrapping

Fans don't seem all too happy about the company scrapping an event that has been directly tied to the SummerSlam since the two crown titles were introduced. But the Night of Champions, which will be held in Saudi Arabia on June 28, is getting a positive response from the audience.
Hopefully, we will have more updates on the matter soon and get to know the lineup as well. But for now, with everyone focusing on WrestleMania 41, it will take some time before Night of Champions comes into play. Also Read: WWE's Royal Rumble Makes Historic Move to Saudi Arabia in 2026
